Create a chart on lined paper that is similar to your vertebrates chart from yesterday. This time you need room for four groups instead of five.
Use the following sites to complete the chart, listing characteristics and examples for each group of invertebrates.

Gr. 7 math: integers in the real world
1. Create a new title page in your toolkit: Unit #2 Integers and Transformations.
2. Begin a new note (new page) with the title: Integers in the Real World. Include the date and underline both the title and date with a ruler.
3. You will watch the following video and list examples of where we see or use integers in the real world.
4. Add any other examples of integers in the real world, that you can think of.
5. Finally, define the following terms in your toolkit. Include an example with each definition. Use a ruler for your number line example. You can use your textbook or Mrs. Thompson's math dictionary to look up the definitions. Terms: positive integer, negative integer, opposite integer, number line
6. You will need to make a number line on chart paper (it has to go to the same value negative and positive, with zero in the middle), to plot the +/- score for the hockey players on a team. The materials are on the back table, you will work with a partner.

Gr. 6 Science - took up Classifying Organisms sheet. Next read your text pg. 7, then complete the tree diagram. Read pg. 8 and 9, complete the organizer based on the living things in the zoo. Finally, answer the three questions with complete sentences.
Gr. 7 Science - worked on vocabulary for this unit (mytools2go), then worked on the question, hypothesis and the specific materials that we used.

Student Prayer Tables are coming to 6/7T!
Prayer tables are coming your way...
In a small group you will be responsible for planning, designing, setting up and presenting a prayer table that will be featured in our room for one month.
Your group will sign up for a month.
For your month you will need:
1. A theme, chosen by the group. It can be based on a religious event, a holiday, a season or anything else of your choosing.
2. A bible quote or bible story to accompany your prayer table. It should connect to the theme.
3. A prayer, one that you find or one that you write, that follows your theme.
4. The prayer table decorated with items that you choose and set up. These items can be from in class, from home or from nature. Please get your parents permission before bringing in items from home.
5. A short presentation of your theme, biblical quote or story, prayer and prayer table for the class. For this you can be creative, dress in costume, present in role or do an activity with the class.
Here are some samples to inspire you :)

Portfolio Cover
First, fold your bristol board, neatly, in half.
Second, put a piece of large construction paper on half of your bristol board and trace. This becomes your boarder.
Third, using contour lines, write your name across your space, keep inside of the boarders.
Fourth, draw straight lines with a ruler across the space, from boarder to boarder. 20 - 30 lines should divide your space into enough sections.
Next, outline your boarder with black marker. Also, outline your name with black marker.
Gr. 6 students... you will choose three tertiary colours (ex. yellow-green, yellow-orange and orange-red), and use them to fill in the inside of your letters. Make sure you use a variety of those three tertiary colours. Also, make sure no two hues are side by side.
You will choose a different three tertiary colours (ex. blue-green blue-violet, red-violet), and use them to fill in the outside of your letters. Make sure you use a variety of those three tertiary colours and no two hues side by side.
You can use a mixture of marker, pencil crayon and crayon.
Gr. 7 students... you will choose three analogous colours (ex. oranges, reds and violets), and use them to fill in the inside of your letters. Make sure you use a variety of those three analogous colours. Also, make sure no two hues are side by side.

Research Training, Day #1
Today cadet, you will embark on your first day of reliable research training.
1. Introductory discussion with Sergeant Thompson.
2. Treasure Hunt
You will be assigned to a team. Your team will be responsible for answering three questions about an explorer. With a fellow cadet you will complete an internet treasure hunt to answer these questions. You can find the treasure hunt here: Treasure Hunt
3. The Big Question
Upon completion of the treasure hunt task, you will reconvene with your team to compare your answers and notes. Finally, you will discuss and answer the "Big Question."
4. As a whole class, cadets and Sergeant Thompson will talk about the findings to the "Big Question." All cadets will record the class findings in their Literacy Resource book.
Good luck, we will see you on Training Day #2.
